I picked up my sample cleaning products today. Now my job is to play with them. I haven't had a domestic for a year now and so cleaning the house is a jointly shared chore.
One of the bug bears I have had over the last year is our floor tiles. I chose tiles that would hide the dirt, and that if a fly died on them, I wouldn't notice. Then we needed to match them and although we went for the same tile, it was from a different batch and the finish is different. So now I have a section of tiles that doesn't show the dirt and another section that, no matter how much I clean them, screams filth at you. One section has a smooth glaze that repels the dirt, and the other has a rough glaze that traps the dirt.
Please note that the photos below are of the same tile, with different finishes. Also note, that I do actually wash my floors REGULARLY!
Firstly - a pic of the stripe I live with.
This bit is the rough bit

and this bit is the smooth bit.
So I mixed a solution of 50% Caterclean and 50% water and sprayed it on a section of the floor. I waited 5 min, like I was told, and then cleaned it off. The top right has been cleaned, and the top left is part of the original stripe!
Not so clear? See below...
My husband is a handy man, and is in the process of renovating our kitchen - hence the hole in the floor - so please ignore it.
He had to replace 2 tiles with the yucky rough ones - before he bashed the wall down! And you can clearly see the 'dirt' problem. I assure you, I do wash my floor!
Same dilution of Caterclean, wait 5 min....... and a gentle wipe in the centre of the tile.... and OMG!
and VOILA! I can't believe my eyes!
(Please note: Always use gloves when working with Caterclean even when diluted.)
